Due to recent budget cuts, the courts are continually reducing services which increases the amount of time expended on, and the cost of each file to the parties. This makes mediation more crucial than ever before. So after 35 years as a litigating attorney in Southern California, James Curry (former regional managing attorney at 21st Century's staff counsel offices: Bollington, Stilz, Bloeser and Curry) has opened his own mediation practice. Mr. Curry is eminently qualified to act as your mediator based upon his outstanding qualifications:
An experienced litigator with over 35 years of trial experience. He has participated as an advocate in several hundred meditations as well.
Voted one of the San Fernando Valley’s top 25 lawyers by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, based on both his litigation and mediation skills.
He acted as mediator in over 600 cases during litigation career with a very high settlement rate.
An active Judge Pro Tem and has participated as a settlement officer in the San Fernando Valley Bar Association’s VAST program as well as the Santa Monica’s court’s resolution program. He has been on the mediation panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court for over 20 years.
Ran a statewide legal department for over 20 years. He has taught, mentored and counseled over 100 attorneys in his career. In this role, Mr. Curry was responsible for thousands of cases which he supervised and evaluated.
During his tenure as a managing attorney, he addressed many business and employment related issues. He was also responsible for creating and administering an operating budget of 13 million dollars.
30 year member of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and a long term member of its Bench/Bar Committee and is a former member of the Board of Trustees.
Specializes in last minute mediations. Mr. Curry is aware how last minute discovery and other events, such as expert depositions and evidentiary rulings, can quickly change a case.

James was born and educated in the Midwest earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, cum laude from Miami University (Ohio) and his law degree from Ohio State University. He is also a graduate of the Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.
